For me, there is hardly any more wonderful truth than the truth that God is a gracious God. When I look at myself, when I look at my experience, when I look at my ministry, when I look at my performance, when I look at the world around me, when I look at other people I am refreshed and comforted and motivated and uplifted by the thought of the grace of God. Indeed, if I didn’t know that God is gracious, I would be devastated, hopeless, fearful, anxious and lacking in vision and enthusiasm.
