Christ, The Word Of God, Is God (part 1) by Librae Jackson, Deacon

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  He was in the beginning with God.  All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.  In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.  And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it."

As we look upon
the first 5 verses of these Divinely inspired words in the Book of John,
we'll get a good understanding, as we
realize that it reveals Christ, candidly.

The One who came to the world to save sinners is
the same One who made the world, in the opening verse of the Holy Scriptures, in Genesis.
"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth" is what it says.

So when John writes: "In the beginning was the Word, who was God, and with God,
and that He was in the beginning with God,"
it's a direct mention of God, the Son of God.

This wonderful and precious truth is further delved into
by the Apostle Paul in the first chapter of Colossians,
where He describes Jesus Christ
as the Invisible God's Image.
He goes on to insist
that all things were created by Him, through Him and for Him.
And in Him, they all consist.
And as the church's Head, the Firstborn from the dead,
He gets pre-eminence.

These sentences, along with the awesomely
definitive acknowledgement in Christian theology
that "In Him dwells all the fulness of the Godhead bodily,"
are words that Paul received.
This terminology was God-breathed.
And, for us, non-optional to believe.

Audacious, indeed, are these statements.
Bu truly, the case is
that we should render praises for such phrases,
because the God-Man's grace is the exact place where salvation is.

Bear with me a moment, as I try to convey this.
Or, rather, what the Scriptures proclaim is
what God unfolds as The Gospel:

The Son of God, also known
as the Son of Man, to the Cross, would go
in order to, unto God, atone
for multitudes of lost souls.
In the mind of God, this was always so.

All that was told
by Moses and the Psalmists and Prophets of old,
and highlighted in the Gospels, and the Acts and Epistles of the Apostles,
is collectively called the Word of God, also.

Moved by the Spirit of God, these holy men all wrote
so that we would, the glory of God, behold,
as we see the things which concern Christ;
and believe, unto eternal life.

It's an assortment of discourses and stories, which
are, undoubtedly, historic.
But the volume of the Book is written of Him,
so we've got to look to Him, to give every portion its significance.
He is the Message that God intends for us to get.

This is why God, in His providence,
sovereignly influenced men
to formally compile
these writings into the Holy Bible.
And it's by this Word that Christ, the Word, revives souls.
