Mt Pride must be forsaken, The valley must be filled
The heart daily be broken, The humble taught God’s will!
The valley of “I’m nothing”, Is needful to the saint
For it promotes the glory, Of all I have in Christ
In self I am a sinner, In Christ I am redeemed
In self I ought be punished, In Christ forgiveness reigns
In self I am unworthy, In Christ I’m fit to bless!
In self I have no gospel, In Christ I have pure rest.
No need to look within me, No reason I must fear
The Lamb has fully honored, His God so honor Him.
By Him who is exalted, All life and peace is yours
He says “only believe” it, And walk in it some more.
