“An Army With Banners”! (Song 6:4)

“You are beautiful, O my love, as Tirzah, comely as Jerusalem, terrible as an army with banners”, the signs of victory (vs4).

We are more than conquerors with God, and He is prevailed on by us. He submits to our entreaties, hears us when we cry, and DELIGHTS that we’d seek after Him.  The unworthy man marveled the Son of God, for he trusted in mercy from afar - “When Jesus heard these thing, he marveled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel” (Luke 7:9).  The woman with the possessed daughter MARVELED Christ, for she obtained mercy as a rebuked dog.  Those who drank like dogs were the only ones who could help Gideon or help us, those who are DECEITFUL in their sight and trust Christ from necessity.  Vashti is haughty and won’t come, but Esther comes ONLY seeking to please the king, in fear, and trembling. Psalms 2:11 says, “Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling”.

God is PLEASED when the beggar is saved, and the high minded is sent home empty - “Talk no more so exceeding proudly; let not arrogance come out of your mouth: for the Lord is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed.  The bows of the mighty men are broken, and they that stumbled are girded with strength“ (1 Sam 2:3-4).  If you’re DESPERATE for Christ and TRUST Christ to return by GRACIOUS obedience, then He will.  He SEES your love, even now, and He will show you openly to the world as a prince!
