Resolution - Librae Jackson, Deacon

I had set out to be healthy, focused and fruitful in the Gospel for the new year, but I started out on the wrong foot, right out the gate. I believe that The Lord used this to show me that it's by grace.

My resolutions to be kind, diligent and zealous for His glory, are all things that He will accomplish for me, not with my help. I don't know why I took my eyes off of Him. I sprinted out like a racer, but stumbled over my own feet, and collapsed with my own momentum, falling flat on my face.  I need Him to quicken me with His Word, because my soul cleaves to the dust. (Psalm 119:25)

Everything must be done out of communion with Christ. To spend time with God in prayer and fellowship is the key.....drawing near to Him by faith.  He Alone can fix my double-mindedness .... and I do look forward to being cured.  Seeing His beauty and basking in His glory....this is true satisfaction, fulfillment and contentment.

I might read from John 15 tomorrow, about abiding in The Vine, without Whom, we can do nothing. We're to rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh. It's a hard lesson to have learned, but a blessed one, for which I'm thankful.
