“But the man that is clean, and is not in a journey, and forbears to keep the Passover, even the same soul shall be cut off from among his people: because he brought not the offering of the Lord in his appointed season, that man shall bear his sin” (vs13).
If we don’t believe God, honoring Christ, and receiving the Passover, then we shall not be saved; He saves the VILEST of men by REPENTANCE and faith, but He will not save ANYONE who refuses to believe that Christ PUT AWAY sin and makes us holy. Any gospel unto sin or by the works of man is NOT the gospel of God, which is unto godliness only (Titus 1:1). Judge what you hear by the holiness it produces:
1. Is it by the cross of Jesus Christ, a gift God gives to whom He will, by faith only - “For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calls“ (Rom 9:11)?
2. Is it the fruit of the Spirit, that as we believe, God works in us by faith, pointing us to the achievements of Jesus, which JUSTIFY the grace of God to sinners - “For if you live after the flesh, you shall die: but if you through the Spirit do put to death the deeds of the body, you shall live“ (Rom 8:13)?
3. Is holiness FREE and to be sought? Is it a GIFT as well as a command? Is it what God does in us, and what we do by faith - “And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith… wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if you DO these things, you shall never fall“(2 Pet 1:5, 10)?
Holiness is mandatory, and any gospel without it should be shunned; it is a delusion. We can’t preach Christ and slavery to sin, both; we must have a Christ that saves, makes the blind to see, the lame to walk, and makes the lepers clean.
If you don’t want Christ, then you must perish; if you want Christ, then you will have Him, when you’ve TRUSTED Him to SANCTIFY you freely, by the blood and the Spirit, by the word.
