Sovereign grace is the most despised doctrine in all the world. It proclaims that God is in charge of everything, particularly the salvation of His people, whom He chose from the foundation of the world (Eph 1:4). This doctrine is unto godliness, and men hate the fact they have no control over God, and they hate the fact that God makes men holy. But, it is GRACE, which is the hope of sinners, not that you and I deserve pity, but that God PITIES and sovereignly saves all that He gave to Christ, by His blood and the power of the Holy Spirit. It is written, “All that the Father gives me shall come to me; and him that comes to me I will in no wise cast out“ (John 6:37).
God is NOT trying to save, but He is saving, and this is the hope of every sinner, that God is able to save me, though I hate Him naturally and cannot be saved by my free will, “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: there is none that understands, there is none that seeks after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that does good, no, not one“ (Rom 3:10-12). I need a God who helps God hating sinners because that is me, and I need salvation to be OUTSIDE of me, performed by God, and INDEPENDENT of my goodness and will power, “So then it is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy“ (Rom 9:16). This is the hope for sinners that gives God glory and ASSURES salvation to all that believe, because we trust a God that can’t fail and needs nothing from us. If it is NOT sovereign grace, then it is not God’s grace, and it is works, and man will be condemned for their failures, rather than helped by God to heaven (Rom 9:11; Rom 11:6).
Sovereign grace, poor sinner, is your hope too. Sovereign grace can save you. Will you receive it? God’s people shall be willing in the day of His power, convinced by God to bow to Jesus Christ for the salvation He gives, trusting Him to DO it all because He DOES it all continually. We are NOT saved by our goodness, but His… it is not us who should be praised for our decisions, but it is God who chose to save us, and having chosen, He cannot fail. Sovereign grace is hope. What is your hope with God?
Romans 9:6-29
So what you are saying is that God also reprobates certain men? Since God doesn't choose to elect some men to salvation they have no choice of being saved and thus God has reprobated these men to going to hell? These are the men that your doctrine says God decides to not give what they need to repent.
ReplyDeleteThus some of your children or children you know may have no chance of salavation if God doesn't elect them salvation as your doctrine teaches?
