"The nobleman said unto him, Sir, come down before my child die" (vs49).
We come to the Lord Jesus because we need Him. Miserable things happen in our lives that hurt us, but if they BRING us to Christ, then they are for good. Yes, all things work together for good to them that believe. Perhaps, this man thinks, "All hope is almost lost. Death has come by my evil". But, don't let your sin or anyone else's KEEP YOU from Christ. He is merciful to sinners and He helps us out of sin and its consequences. He is MERCIFUL to people we'd avoid and shows His glory by doing good to the afflicted.
Are you hurt, burdened, sick, or weary? Has life gotten you down, do you taste the bitterness of DEATH all around you in this world? Then, COME to Jesus Christ the Lord. Your poverty is a blessing, if properly used. Let grief bring salvation to you. Let your sickness get you healing that makes you thankful that you showed SYMPTOMS that you were sick. A little pain can foreshadow a GREAT illness, and you can then be spared by action. You may have ruined your life so far, but you'll ruin it now no longer!!
