“And he sent messengers to Ahab king of Israel into the city, and said unto him, Thus says Benhadad, your silver and your gold is mine; your wives also and your children, even the best, are mine.”
What degradation, to have your children, wives, and best possessions STOLEN away and used to another man’s lust. He takes what is yours and VIOLATES all that you love in front of your face. This is what Israel was fighting against, the DEGREDATION of Satan, as He corrupts and uses for himself all that belongs to God. This is something to fight against with the utmost zeal: it is BETTER to die than to give our families to Satan. We will be faithful to Christ at all costs, even the accosting of Satan himself. We will believe unto righteousness and get help from God who justifies us. We are not alone in the fight, and the BATTLE has real consequences. Live for God’s glory among your family, ask God’s mercy upon your wife and children, and DO NO surrender to Satan under any circumstance. If you’ve been faithless thus far, confess your sin, and believe now. Look to the Son for strength as a forgiven child of God: don’t think He’s against you, or you won’t stand.
