“My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation. For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect [mature] man, and able also to bridle the whole body”.
God’s test of judgment for teachers is, “Can you practice what you preach?” The man that TAMES the tongue, tames the whole body, so does he preach the truth in love for men? If there be a harsh, arrogant, and proud spirit, then he hasn’t received the truth at all. He is DIVIDED. He has a heavenly doctrine but no heavenly life. He has not matured and brought forth fruit. No man is SENT to preach who is not a peacemaker – “And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace” (James 3:18). He is running without the HEART that’s from God.
If I can bridle my tongue and speak in love, then I have Christ INDEED. No love, no Christ, no preaching.
